Meleesa Gutierrez born in New Haven, Connecticut on July 2nd, 1998. She graduated high school in May of 2016 and enlisted in the United States Army in July of that year. Spc. Gutierrez attended Basic Training at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri. Upon graduation, she attended Advanced Individual Training (AIT) at the United States Army Signal School Detachment. She is Combat Documentation/ Production Specialist. After her completion of AIT she was assigned to the 55th Signal Company (Combat Camera). With her military career, Spc. Gutierrez strives to rank up to Staff Sergeant.

She hopes to utilize all her resources to further her technical skills and one day become a film director. She was accepted into the Military Photojournalism (MPJ) course at Syracuse University in 2019, and spent a year learning photojournalism and storytelling. Meleesa is very passionate about health and fitness. In her time at Syracuse, she completed her first marathon on September 7th, 2019. The program has allowed her time to grow her photography and videography skills, while advancing as a multimedia storyteller.
